REGINA ATWATER
Passed away December 26, 1998. Regina Atwater was an extraordinary
animal rights activist. Her husband reported to the Democrat and
Chronicle of Rochester that Regina's whole life was a history of
giving, buying presents for children who didn't have any, giving
clothes to those children who didn't have gloves or a jacket. Animal
Rights was her passion. Regina put out shelters for homeless cats,
had them vaccinated and neutered, and tried to find them homes. "She
was much loved and is irreplaceable,. The animals are going to
miss her," said Nancy Hallowell of Pittsford. As president
of Animal Advocates of Upstate NY, Regina wrote many letters to
the newspaper about animals. Contributions in Regina's name can
be made to : Animal Advocates of Upstate NY , POB 18415, Rochester,
NY 14618.
Due to timing, this is belated but nevertheless heartfelt:
C.A.S.H. was extremely saddened to learn of the passing of CLEVELAND
AMORY, HENRY SPIRA, AND AMORY WINTHROP. We trust that
they are making things better for animals in the world beyond.
Their work is a legacy to the movement of animal protection.
SUNI MULLER

who was thrown out of three homes before we were lucky enough to
get her. Eventually, her suspicions subsided and we were best friends
until kidney disease claimed her life. We traveled together everywhere.
