HUNTING SEASON STATISTICS

Posted by Bina Robinson

From NY State Conservation Advisory Fund minutes, November 2004:

There are currently 630,000 deer hunters in NYS with an average age of 49.  94% are male, have hunted 22 years and killed 10 deer. NY is the only state that doesn't allow kids under 16 to hunt deer.

The number of licenses sold overall was down by 500,000 from 1.5 million the previous year. The Conservation Fund is projected to be in the red again in a couple of years.
