County man killed in fishing accident loved the outdoors, family, friends

...According to state police at Stonington, Zimmerman and a friend, whose name had not been released, were fishing Wednesday in the Susquehanna River, about 5 miles south of Sunbury and about 200 yards south of a PPL dam, when Zimmerman drowned. The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m.

Police said Zimmerman, 68, of Roedersville, was attempting to reach shore while wading in the river, slipped and drowned. Resuscitation efforts failed.
