The body of 16-year-old Dalton Gustinis has been recovered from
Whitefish Lake.
A Lieutenant with the Montcalm County
Sheriff's Office has confirmed that crews found Gustinis around
2p.m. Saturday.
According to a news release from the
Montcalm County Sheriff's Office, crews using sonar located the
teenager in 32 feet of water. Divers removed the body a short
time later.
16-year old Dalton Gustinis (and) two friends
were fishing in a small, flat bottom boat around midnight.
The boat started taking on water. They all tried to swim back to
shore. Two of them made it. Dalton did not. His brother, Jake Ellis,
thinks Dalton was wearing heavy clothing. "He likes to wear boots.
He had steel toe boots on when he got off boat. We know he had them
on, because he always wears them."
