PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A fisherman's body was found near the
Rodman Reservoir Sunday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission said William H. Westmoreland, 71, of
Interlachen was fishing in the Ocklawaha River.
Joy Hill
with the FWC said a witness spotted Westmoreland's empty jon boat
around 8 a.m. Sunday. It was anchored downstream from the Rodman
Reservoir.
Westmoreland's truck and boat trailer were at the
boat ramp.
FWC, deputies, and authorities from the
Department of Environmental Protection started searching for
Westmoreland.
A dive team found his body around 1:30 p.m
Sunday.
Hancel Woods with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office
said it's unclear how Westmoreland fell from his boat. He either had
a medical situation or it was an accident.
Hill with FWC
said foul play is not suspected.
