Hunters Shot Near Willmar and Roseau
November 10, 2003
WILLMAR, MINN. -- A man was shot during the opening day of
deer season in Kandiyohi County.
The sheriff's department says the 72-year-old man was shot
in the left leg above the knee while hunting south of Lake Solomon in Dovre
Township, north of Willmar.
The shooting happened at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The man
was treated at Rice Memorial Hospital and released.
Another hunting accident was reported in Roseau County in
northern Minnesota. Authorities say a 17-year-old boy apparently was getting
out of a vehicle when his rifle discharged Saturday morning, hitting him in
the left foot. That accident happened southeast of Badger.
