Hunter in Bedminster shoots off fingertips

BEDMINSTER TWP. - A 54-year-old deer hunter shot off two of his fingertips last Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 25, in a hunting accident on private property off Route 206.

Police said the man, Antonio Abilio of North Arlington, inadvertently shot the tips of two fingers on his left hand while maneuvering in a deer blind

near the Chester Township and Peapack-Gladstone borders shortly before 4 p.m.

According to police, Abilio was transported by ambulance to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police said a subsequent investigation showed that Abilio was properly licensed to hunt with a shotgun and had the owner's permission to hunt on the Route 206 property.
