Safe Hunting?

Man Injured Hunting Deer

POSTED: 2:41 PM EST December 1, 2003

XENIA, Ohio -- Today is the beginning of Ohio deer hunting season and one Miami Valley man is already in the hospital.

Medics in Greene County were called to a wooded-area around Hilltop and Fairgrounds roads around 9:45 Monday morning on a report of an injured hunter.

When medics arrived, they found Brian Emrick with an injury to his knees.

Beavercreek firefighters put Emrick on a stretcher and pulled him up a hill using a pulley system.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
