Officials have suspended their search for a missing
14-year-old hunter today.
The Coast Guard says David Mills disappeared earlier
this week during a hunting trip with his father and one other man.
Both the father Rick Mills and companion Gary Davies
were found dead just off the North Shore of Kupreanof last week.
After three days of searching the Petty Officer Douglas
Green with the Coast Guard says the chances of the teen being found
alive are slim.
"Chances for survival in the kind of weather their
having in the area are negligible. If there are any further developments
of course we will certainly reopen the search but as of right now
it is suspended."
Although the Coast Guard called their search off, volunteers
from the local village of Kake, headed out again this morning to
continue looking for the 14-year-old.
