MAN KILLED IN HUNTING ACCIDENT

ADDIS, La. An Addis hunter was killed Sunday when his shotgun went off when he leaned on it to pick up a rabbit, Iberville Parish authorities said.

Authorities said Clifton Sanchez Sr. was shot in the head and that he died immediately. An inspection of his bolt action shotgun found faults with the trigger mechanism, authorities said.

He went on the hunting trip with five other people.
