GLEN, Miss. - An Alcorn County 16-year-old was killed
Tuesday while on a turkey hunting trip.
Travis Eugene "T.J." White II, a sophomore at Alcorn
Central High School, was killed when a friend's shotgun accidentally
discharged, said Sheriff's Department investigator Houston Brown.
White was pronounced dead at Magnolia Regional Health
Center. Brown said the two were hunting just off a county road.
The other youth, who has not been publicly identified, told
authorities they were tracing a group of turkeys through the woods and his gun
went off one time, striking White in the back, Brown said.
"It was totally accidental," said Brown.
