HUNTER INJURED ON OPENING DAY OF TURKEY SEASON
A camouflaged hunter suffered minor pellet wounds to his
arm on Thursday's opening day of turkey season in Stevens County.
The Sheriff's Office said one of two hunters was placing a
decoy Thursday morning when his partner blasted him with a shotgun.
The shooter reportedly thought the man setting the decoy
had returned to their blind, so he opened fire when the decoy's head rose
from the grass.
The injured hunter was treated at Mount Carmel Hospital in
Colville.
