RANSOM, Mich. - A 45-year-old Bryan man died Sunday
morning in a Hillsdale County hunting accident, Michigan State Police
troopers said.
Arthur Beard was squirrel hunting with his 16-year-old
nephew in a farm field in Ransom Township near Ransom, Mich., at 8:30 a.m.
when he was shot once behind the ear with a 22-caliber rifle, authorities
said.
Mr. Beard was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers are continuing their investigation into the
incident and would release no further details last night.
