A 33-year-old Madras man was arrested Friday on misdemeanor assault and
negligence allegations in a hunting accident earlier this month that
seriously wounded a Prineville man, the Oregon State Patrol reported.
Isidro Olivera-Zapien was being held in the Crook County Jail in lieu of
$7,500 bail. He faces accusations of negligent wounding and fourth-degree
assault, the patrol said in a news release.
Sean Vaughan, 23, was shot once in the abdomen on Oct. 3 in the Mill
Creek wilderness area northeast of Prineville in the Ochoco National Forest.
The shot came from a hunter in another party about 400 feet away.
