CHICORA, Pa. A 45-year-old Armstrong County man is dead after authorities
say he was accidentally shot by his father while the two were deer hunting
on their farm.
County Coroner Robert Bower says the dead man is Dean R. Baker of
Sugarcreek Township.
Bower wouldn't name the shooter, but says he was Baker's 69-year-old
father.
Bower says he ruled Baker's death an accident. He says the shooting
occurred about 1:30 this afternoon when Baker's father took aim at a deer
and missed -- instead shooting his son in the chest.
The incident remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police
and the state Game Commission.
Bower says Baker was pronounced dead at the scene about an hour later.
