PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. -- A hunting accident claimed the life of a 12-year-old Punxsutawney girl, state Game Commission officials said.

Authorities didn't say exactly how Brittanie Frantz was shot but said her death involved a shotgun that accidentally fired.

The accident occurred a little after 10 a.m. Saturday in Perry Township, where Brittanie was hunting with her father, James Frantz.
