MONTEREY TEEN SHOT, SERIOUSLY HURT IN HUNTING ACCIDENT

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. A 16-year-old Monterey boy was shot and seriously injured by a hunter in a weekend accident.

Jeremiah Clark was taken to Knoxville's University of Tennessee Medical Center in serious but stable condition for surgery today after being shot Saturday in the abdomen.

Thirty-four-year-old David Eugene Mc-Ghee of Lake City was hunting wild pigs with two other men on a farm when investigators say he fired at the teen from about 150 feet away.

Mc-Ghee told investigators he believed he saw the backside of a deer.

Clark had been hiking in the woods.

No charges have been filed, and an investigation continues.
