COOKEVILLE, Tenn. A 16-year-old Monterey boy was shot and seriously
injured by a hunter in a weekend accident.
Jeremiah Clark was taken to Knoxville's University of Tennessee Medical
Center in serious but stable condition for surgery today after being shot
Saturday in the abdomen.
Thirty-four-year-old David Eugene Mc-Ghee of Lake City was hunting wild
pigs with two other men on a farm when investigators say he fired at the
teen from about 150 feet away.
Mc-Ghee told investigators he believed he saw the backside of a deer.
Clark had been hiking in the woods.
No charges have been filed, and an investigation continues.
