COLUMBIA, La. A man on a Caldwell Parish hunting outing was killed
when his wife's rifle went off accidentally.
Authorities say 48-year-old Terry Coon, of LaSalle Parish, was standing
on a four-wheeler yesterday afternoon when a rifle strapped to Kay
Coon's shoulder went off, shooting him in the back.
The wife called the sheriff's department to report that her husband
needed an ambulance. Coon was taken to Citizens Medical Center in Columbia,
where he was pronounced dead.
