Sheriff: Man shot while hunting
Warren County Sheriff's deputies responded to an apparent hunting accident
off Manchester Road on Sunday afternoon, but little information was available
at press time.
Warren County Sheriff Tom Ariss said a young man, about 18, was accidentally
shot while hunting on a Manchester Road property in Franklin Township.
Apparently, a shotgun accidentally discharged while being passed from one
person to another, Ariss said.
Ariss said the victim was flown by medical helicopter to Dayton's Miami
Valley Hospital. He did not know the victim's condition, but that the man
was alive and underwent surgery.
A supervisor at Miami Valley said she could give no information.
Sgt. Brandon Lacy, of the Warren County Sheriff's Department, said there
had been a shooting, but he had no details about who was hurt. He said no
one had been arrested.
