TIRUCHY: A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday as one of the
pellets fired by him at birds hit his friend “inadvertently” during
hunting in a forest near Manapparai on July 30.
According to police, Raj (40) and his friend Sounder of Kannoothu,
near Manapparai, were in the habit of hunting birds with a
country-made gun. On the day of the incident, Raj kept cornering the
birds from one part of the forest and Sounder kept firing at the birds
when a pellet hit Raj on his thigh.
An injured Raj was admitted to a private hospital.
Based on a complaint from Puthanatham VAO Selvaraj, Manapparai
police registered a case, arrested Sounder and seized the country-made
gun from him.
