FARGO, N.D. - A 12-year-old boy from this city has been injured in
a hunting accident.
Philip Thelen was accidentally shot in the face and chest while
hunting with his father, Mark, the Cass County sheriff's office said.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday in northeastern
Ransom County. The boy was flown to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. A
nursing supervisor said his family asked that no information about his
condition be released.
The Ransom County and Cass County sheriff's offices referred
questions to officials with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
They could not immediately be reached for comment.
