KNOWLTON - A hunting accident claimed the life of a 22-year-old
Mosinee man early Saturday morning.
The man was duck hunting with another person in a boat on Lake Du
Bay when the 22-year-old died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot
wound, Marathon County Sheriff's Lt. Fred Goch said.
The accident occurred just after 7 a.m., Goch said. The Sheriff's
Department did not release the man's name on Saturday because
relatives were being notified.
Police investigate gun at Pine Bar
Wausau police received a report of a man with a gun just after 2
a.m. Saturday at The Pine Bar, 1512 N. Sixth St.
An argument apparently started the incident, and a man was outside
the bar when he said he had a gun, Wausau Police Lt. Mike Juedes said.
Investigating officers were about to stop a suspicious vehicle when a
man ran from the car, and police found a gun inside the vehicle,
Juedes said.
No one was arrested for the incident, but police still are
investigating.
