Hunting Accident

Jackson County, WI

Oct 28, 2005

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, a hunter thought he was shooting at a deer, when it was actually another hunter. He shot 29 year old Jason LaFratta of Waukesha in the leg. He was wearing blaze orange. Police aren't releasing the shooters name.. but says he's from Granton, Wisconsin... and is cooperating with the investigation.

This accident serves as a reminder as the hunting season kicks into high gear. Take a gun safety course... and always wear orange. Hunting in what's called... t-zone areas... for antlerless deer ends this Sunday. The full gun deer season in Wisconsin starts... November 19th.
