NORWAY, NY — The body of a hunter missing for nearly a week was
found Saturday, Herkimer County officials said.
The hunter, Lawrence Brown, 68, of Niskayuna, was reported missing
by family members Sunday.
Brown, who owned a hunting camp in the town of Norway, had been on
the hunting trip by himself last weekend. Friends said Brown had gone
onto the wooded land Sunday, but never arrived at a designated
rendezvous point.
State police, teams from the New York State Forest Rangers, New
York Department of Conservation, Herkimer County Emergency Services,
the town of Norway and dozens of volunteer search and rescue personnel
assisted in the search for Brown.
Further details were not available Saturday night, officials said.
