WIOTA, Iowa - A Missouri man has been injured while pheasant
hunting in western Iowa.
Officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources say
40-year-old Sammy Burke of Joplin, Missouri was hit by pellets fired
from another man's gun while hunting near Wiota.
The other man was shooting at a pheasant and Burke was accidentally
struck by pellets fired from the man's gun.
Officials say he was taken to Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha,
Nebraska, but officials there say they have no record of him.
