The Westmoreland County coroner's office ruled the shooting death
of a Loyalhanna bow hunter suspicious yesterday as state police and
the Pennsylvania Game Commission continued to search for clues.
Steven Andrew Kachonik, 39, was found by members of the Saltsburg
Volunteer Fire Department face down on Sunday morning with a shotgun
wound to the chest.
Mr. Kachonik was reported missing by his family on Saturday and was
last seen at 3 p.m. entering the woods along Route 981.
