MILAN — State police in Rhinebeck are investigating a hunting
accident that resulted in the death of 22-year-old man Saturday in the
Town of Milan.
State police officials gave no details Sunday about the accident,
which took place at around noon.
Last year, there was a total of two fatal hunting injuries
statewide, according to the New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation.
In 2001, a Kerhonkson man was killed in a shooting incident while
hunting in the Town of Wawarsing.
In 1996, a Rhinebeck man was killed after a man, who was hunting
illegally in the Town of Rhinebeck, shot him. The shooter said he
mistook the victim for a deer.
