Two people were shot in separate hunting incidents Friday afternoon.

Taylor Carlisle, 20, was shot while deer hunting near Rock Quarry Road and New Hope Road, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Department. He was taken to WakeMed Raleigh Campus, where he was in serious condition late Friday.

Separately, a 12-year-old girl was shot in a hunting-related incident in a rural area outside Wake Forest. She underwent surgery at WakeMed and was listed as stable late Friday, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Detectives were investigating both incidents, but had not filed charges.
