CLUTIER, Iowa State officials say a Traer man has been injured
while hunting pheasants in central Iowa.
Kurt Boerm was hit in the legs by pellets fired from a shotgun by
his 11-year-old son Mitchell, at 9:30 a.m. yesterday (Tuesday).
Department of Natural Resources officer Brett Reece says the boy
was shooting at a flying pheasant. He says dense fog may have been a
factor contributing to the incident.
The accident occurred in Tama County.
The 39-year-old Kurt Boerm was taken to Covenant Hospital in
Waterloo. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
