NORRIDGEWOCK, ME -- A child was killed Sunday in a hunting accident
in Norridgewock, according to the Maine Warden Service.
The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. and involved minors, according
to Lt. Pat Dorian of the warden service. The victim's name, age and
gender were not released, nor was the number of minors involved in the
accident.
Several game wardens were still on the scene about 8 p.m., and
likely would remain through the night, Dorian said.
The Maine State Police is assisting the warden service in the
investigation, he said.
Wardens and troopers were working together, conducting interviews;
evidence technicians from both agencies examined the scene.
The Somerset County District Attorney's Office would not authorize
the release of any additional information, because the investigation
was still being conducted and because the incident involved minors,
Dorian said.
