COMMUNITY RECORDER STAFF REPORT
BIG BONE -- A Union man was injured in a hunting accident during
the evening of April 17.
Union resident John Neff, 21, was shooting at turkey decoys in a
wooded area unaware his step-brother, Matthew Hamilton, 18, was behind
him, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Hamilton was hit with a 12-gauge shotgun in his leg, arm and hand,
the department said. He was sent via AirCare to University Hospital in
Cincinnati with non-life threatening injuries. The men were in the
rear of the Beaver Road home in the Big Bone area.
The sheriff's department said Monday that the investigation was
still pending and no charges had been filed.
