The 18-year-old man who was accidentally shot while hunting
Thursday remained in serious condition today at a Wichita hospital.
Paul S. Schwarzenberger was hunting wild turkeys with a friend near
the 11100 block of West 47th St. South shortly after 7 a.m. when the
accident occurred, the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department said.
"Apparently, they lost sight of each other and one saw movement and
there was an accidental shooting," said sheriff's Lt. Gregg Etter.
Schwarzenberger was shot in the right arm and chest.
The man was in critical condition when he was flown to Via Christi
Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus.
