(Walhalla-AP) August 28, 2006 - A West Union man has died in an
apparent hunting accident in Oconee County.
Coroner Karl Addis says 65-year-old John Anthony Binder was found
next to a fence Sunday afternoon.
Authorities think Binder died as he tried to move his 28-gauge
shotgun from one side of a fence to the other at a private hunting
club.
Addis says officials think Binder had been training his dog and
was hunting quail before he died. Addis says one shell had been
fired from the right chamber of the gun.
Binder suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.
The death has been ruled an accident.
