Brooklyn Man Killed In Hunting Accident Upstate

NY1 News

September 10, 2006

A Brooklyn man was killed on an upstate hunting trip, and now state police are investigating how it happened.

Police say 58-year-old Jose Cruz of Ocean Hill was shot while in a outhouse at a hunting camp in Columbia County upstate, about 45 miles south of Albany.

Police say a friend of Cruz is the one who fired the fatal shot. They say the friend was aiming at a target 121 feet away. No charges have been filed.
