DEERFIELD -- An 11-year-old Chagrin Falls boy was accidentally shot
in the face Saturday while hunting with his father and others.
According to Deerfield Fire Chief Miles Felmly, the boy was
brought to the Deerfield Fire Department by his father, who reported
that they had been amoung a group of people hunting in the
Leffingwell Road area on the south side of Deerfield. They were just
inside the Mahoning County line when the incident happened, Felmly
said.
The boy was reportedly shot with a 20-gauge shotgun from a
distance of about 100 yards, according to Felmly, and had numerous
pellet wounds in his face with one entering the inside corner of his
eye.
