Hunting Accident Sends Teen to the Hospital

Nampa, ID - A 14-year-old Treasure Valley teen is recovering at a Boise hospital after she was accidentally shot while hunting quail Saturday.

The incident happened shortly after one in the afternoon near Dry Lake and Bennett Roads south of Nampa. According to Canyon County Sheriff's Office, the 17-year-old shooter flushed a quail and shot at it not realizing the victim was in the path of the shot. The victim was struck below her eye, in the ear and arm. None of the injuries were life threatening.

Since everyone involved is a juvenile no names have been released.
