Huguenot - A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back during a
hunting trip with friends yesterday.
The teen was shot with a .30-caliber rifle while in a green GMC
pickup truck with three friends. It was not made clear by police
where the teens were headed at the time of the shooting. The
shooting occurred near Foss Lane in Huguenot in the Town of Deerpark.
The unidentified teen was flown to Westchester Medical Center in
Valhalla following the early afternoon incident.
At the scene, investigators collected clothing and other
belongings from the truck. One investigator held up an army fatigue
jacket with a bullet hole through its cloth.
One of the friends hid his face in the seat of a police vehicle
as he was driven away for questioning.
The others are also being questioned by police.
This is the second hunting-related shooting in Deerpark in just
over a year.
