NASHVILLE, Tenn. A man was fatally wounded by a shotgun while duck
hunting on the Cumberland River near Nashville.
Authorities said 28-year-old Thomas Ayer St. Charles the Third
was standing in the water next to the boat yesterday when his
shotgun sitting on the deck fired and struck him in the lower
abdomen.
A companion in the boat told officers he did not know how the gun
went off.
Police said they have not classified the death as an accident,
but said foul play is not suspected.
