Oneida teen hurt in hunting incident
ONEIDA — A 15-year-old Oneida boy was receiving treatment at a Green
Bay hospital Monday night after accidentally shooting himself in the
lower left leg while hunting near Moore Road.
Sgt. Mark Ninham of the Oneida Police Department said the boy was
hunting rabbits when he tripped and fell, causing his 20-gauge
shotgun to discharge at about 3:30 p.m. Monday. Town of Oneida First
Responders and County Rescue Service assisted at the scene.
The boy's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Ninham
said.
Further information was withheld at the request of the boy's family.
