GLIDE: A 16-year-old Glide boy was shot and injured Saturday while
hunting with his father on their property on Little River Road.
David Ruozi Sr., 50, was raccoon hunting with his son at about
6:20 p.m. when, while in separate locations, he fired a .22-caliber
rifle and struck David Ruozi Jr. in the left shoulder, according to
a report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Ruozi Jr. was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was
stabilized and transferred to Oregon Health & Science University
Hospital in Portland, a nursing spokeswoman said.
The teen was reported in good condition this morning.
Sheriff’s detectives responded to interview those involved. The
incident remains under investigation, but detectives believe the
shooting was accidental.
