Hunting Accident - Apr 2, 2007
(WVLT) - A Knoxville man is in serious condition after being shot
by a member of his own hunting party.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says Rick Dailey, 47, was
shot by William Snyder while turkey hunting in the Chuck Swan State
Forest and Wildlife Management Area on Saturday.
TWRA says Dailey had a turkey decoy sticking out of the vest he
was wearing.
Officials say Snyder accidentally shot Dailey because he thought
he saw a turkey.
Paramedics took Dailey by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center to be
treated for puncture wounds to the neck, face, and upper body.
This is the second East Tennessee Hunting accident in just two
weeks.
