IA: Man shot in head while hunting

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- A Long Grove man was accidentally shot in the head over the weekend while turkey hunting in eastern Iowa.

Forty-year-old Peter Kroeger was injured yesterday . He was treated and released from a Dubuque hospital, but may undergo surgery to remove pellets lodged near his eye.

A DNR official says Kroeger was mistakenly shot in the head, chest and leg by his hunting partner, who was about 80 yards away.
