BIWABIK, Minn. -- Authorities were investigating on Monday an
apparent deer-hunting accident that sent a man to the hospital in
northeastern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the 62-year-old man
from rural Aurora, Minn., was shot during the weekend deer opener
about 1 1/2 miles east of Biwabik, which is on the Iron Range.
The man apparently was shot by another member of his hunting
party. He was taken to the Virginia Regional Medical Center, then
flown to a hospital in Duluth.
The hunter's name and condition were not been released.
Authorities said the shooting appears accidental.
