Two Hunters Die on Opening Day of Gun Season

The accidents happened in Calhoun and Preston Counties.
CHARLESTON -- The Division of Natural Resources is reporting two
deaths on the opening day of the bucks only gun season.
According to a DNR spokesman, a Maryland resident fell about 25
feet from a tree stand, near Aurora in Preston County just before 9
a.m.
John Myers, 69 of Western Port, Md, was climbing down from the
older wooden stand, after shooting a deer, when he fell.
The DNR says it's the third stand-related fatality in West Virginia
this year.
In Calhoun County, an Ohio man died after suffering a heart attack.
Ferrill Hall, 68 of Orrville, Ohio shot a deer and had the heart
attack while climbing over a hill to get to the deer.
In Brooke County, a 35-year-old man injured his ankle when he fell
15 feet out of a tree stand.
