Hunter Found Dead Near Dayton Golf Course
DAYTON, Minn. (WCCO) ― Friends found a hunter's body near the
Sundance Golf Course in Dayton, Minn. early Sunday morning.
Dayton Police said the man's body was found in a wooded area off of
a fairway a couple of hundred yards from the parking lot and
clubhouse.
Friends identify the victim as Matt Daniel, a Hassan Township,
Minn. resident who was in his early 40s.
Friends went to search for Daniel, an avid hunter, after his wife
became concerned that her husband hadn't returned home.
Daniel had gone bow hunting alone on a friend's property near the
golf course. Friends who found Daniel's body said it looked like
Daniel was trying to get into or out of a deer stand when it broke. It
appeared Daniel was choked by his harness, a friend said.
Daniel grew up in Osseo, Minn. and was married and had a child.
