BAD AXE -- A St. Clair County man suffered a gunshot wound to the
groin while hunting with friends in Huron County.
Doctors at Hurley Medical Center in Flint were treating Timothy J.
Bailey after the 4 p.m. Saturday shooting on state land near Scott and
Philip in Verona Township.
The 45-year-old had emerged from a wooded area when a deer ran
between him and two other hunters from his group, police said.
One of the hunters shot Bailey with a 12-gauge shotgun. The hunters
told investigators they did not see the Goodells man through thick
weeds about 300 yards into the field.
