Logan teen shoots self while hunting
Fourteen-year-old Jacob Jensen, Logan, suffered a non-life
threatening wound Friday while hunting north of Logan.
According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Jensen
accidentally shot himself in the calf of his leg with a .22 caliber
pistol while in pursuit of a raccoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. He was
transported by Logan Rescue to Alegent Health Community Memorial
Hospital, Missouri Valley where he was treated and released.
The DNR does not anticipate filing any charges relating to the
incident, said spokesman Kevin Baskins.
