Williamson Co. Man Killed In Hunting Accident

WILLIAMSON CO. - A Johnston City man was killed in an apparent
hunting accident early Sunday morning at the Grounds Hunting Club on
Grassy Road in Williamson County.
Garry Dawes, 53, died as a result of an apparent accidental
gunshot wound while hunting with friends, according to a news
release from the Williamson County Coroner.
Coroner Junior Bruke said “it appears that Mr. Dawes’ gun
accidentally discharged.” The hunting incident is being investigated
by the Coroner’s office, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department,
the Illinois State Police and Conservation Police.
