JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A North Vernon man is recovering
after a hunter shot him with a 20 gauge shotgun. It happened near
Scipio in Jennings County.
Conservation Officers say an 11-year-old turkey hunter shot
28-year old Dustin Burkman early Sunday morning.
They say the boy fired a shot from his gun and five pellets hit
Burkman's head and chest.
He went to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Authorities say you should avoid wearing bright red and blue in
hunting areas because a turkey's head will often turn those colors.
