Nashville Man Dies In Hunting Accident
Posted on August 14, 2008
A Davidson County man died in an apparent hunting accident in
Lawrence County this week.
The body of fifty-two year old Gary Wayne Smith of Brentwood
Tennessee was found in a tree stand Tuesday night around 8:30pm. Smith
had been hunting coyotes on a friends property, just off of the Old
Florence - Pulaski Road.
Authorities say the rifle was found on the ground near the tree
stand. Officers think Smith dropped the rifle and the weapon discharged
when it hit the ground, striking Smith in the back and exiting through
his chest.
Smith worked in the music industry in Nashville.
